The "Digital Democracy Study - How Parliamentarians in Europe use Digital Media in Political Communications" is a pilot study, coordinated and supervised by Prof. Dr. Joachim Klewes, Heinrich-Heine-University in Duesseldorf/Germany, and executed in cooperation with Dr. Rene Mono, Gianni Catalfamo and Saskia Schirmann from Ketchum Pleon, the leading European communications consultancy.
The Digital Democracy Study aimed at finding out how politicians in Europe use Social Media in their everyday work. About 500 European members of the European Parliament and of national parliaments from 26 countries answered the questionnaire.
The Digital Democracy Study is conform with the international code of practice in market and opinion research which was established by the international organizations ICC and ESOMAR.
